Tone’s® Deluxe Nachos
We’ve all heard of #TacoTuesday, but what about #NachoEveryday? Nachos are often overlooked for dinner because let’s face it…they usually fall under the appetizer or snack category. But not anymore! Tone’s® Deluxe Nachos give you the perfect opportunity to create a nacho bar, which is probably one of the greatest inventions ever! Nacho bars let everyone have the chance to get creative with their meal…and let us tell you, these nachos are certainly filling enough to count as a meal!
What makes these nachos “deluxe” and not just “ordinary?” The secret is refried beans! They’re not just a can of warmed up refried beans (which are in fact delicious), but we have doctored them up to make them restaurant-style! The addition of sour cream, salsa, and Tone’s® Taco Seasoning takes the beans to the next level!
Next up is the ground beef (or ground turkey or some other type of meat – your choice)! Again, this ground beef is scrumptious courtesy of the Tone’s® Taco Seasoning. What makes Tone’s® Taco Seasoning a must-have is its perfect blend of key ingredients, including chili peppers, Mexican oregano, onion, garlic salt, and a hint of cayenne. Plus, it’s mild enough for even the youngest in the crowd to enjoy. (If you prefer more heat, try adding a dash of Tone’s® Cayenne Pepper!)
Following the layers of delicious beans and meat comes the cheese! We prefer to shred some Monterey Jack cheese right off the block (it’s so melty and yum that way), but you can also add in some sharp cheddar, or even use a bag of Mexican-blend cheese! You definitely want to top the meat with the cheese to ensure it achieves the perfect level of melty-ness, otherwise you’ll have shredded cheese falling off your chips.
Now is the fun part of the nacho bar situation – the optional toppings! Here are suggestions that we like to serve with our nachos – we put these in little bowls and let people add them on as they’d please. That way, everyone is happy!
Topping suggestions:
Diced onions
Diced green onions
Sliced tomatoes
Salsa
Black olives
Guacamole
Sliced avocado
Taco sauce
Sour cream
Greek yogurt
Shredded lettuce
A squeeze of lime juice
One thing we must mention is to be sure you are using a good sturdy chip for these nachos. Since you’re going to be thoroughly piling on the ingredients, you’ll want something that can hold up the weight!
